Chef Siphokazi, comes in at 1.3m and when one says dynamite comes in small packages, this cook does not disappoint. In 2014, after being a domestic worker for 15 years, she decided to enter MasterChef Season 3 – and ended up being the nation’s the much-loved Runner-Up. With her unassuming charm, sense of humour, and & kitchen wizardry she is a fountain of foodie knowledge and clients adore her cooking demonstrations.
Chef Sipho’s daily recipe reels on social media enjoy a great following, and she has collaborated with SA’s top brands, such as Pick ‘n Pay, Ucook, Royco, Maggi, Sasko, South African Tourism, and Protex in the past.
Sipho grew up in the Eastern Cape in the rural areas of the former Transkei region in Tsolo Village, next to Umtata. Her love for cooking started at an early age, under the guidance of her mother and grandmother, with her fondest memories being helping and watching her mother bake scones on a three legged pot on an open flame.
Her cookbooks, “My Little Black Recipe Book ”, and “Let’s eat with Siphokazi” remain highly popular.
