Carvin H Goldstone

Carvin H Goldstone is a Durban based comedian and one of South Africa’s brightest rising comedy stars. Carvin’s clean, no swearing style, has won him audiences from across racial and social backgrounds. He is a multi-talented performer and accomplished broadcast journalist. He is a two-time comedy show winner and is also a qualified journalist with three Vodacom Journalist of the Year awards including the 2014 SA Sports Journalist of the year accolade. He is clever, animated and gifted with an arsenal of accents. He’s spot on impersonations will leave audiences roaring with laughter. Over the last few years Carvin has become one of the most trusted names in local comedy.

 

He has performed at the Kings & Queens of Comedy, Bruinos Only Comedy Show, Nandos Durbs Comedy Fest, Let Durban Laugh, Wow Comedy Jams, Charous and Bruinos, Mixed Masala, Funny Chow, LOL Comedy Show and Rainbow Afrika comedy events. At the Nando’s Comedy Fest, Carvin H performed along international comedians.

 

At Barry Hilton’s 2012 one man show in Durban, the South African comedy icon told his audience to look out for Carvin H Goldstone describing him as “a very funny man.” Indian King of Comedy Muthu Murugan has called Carvin H the future of Durban comedy. But it’s not just the old school comedians that have acknowledged Carvin H’s talents. In 2012 Carvin H was the opening comedy act for Bafunny Bafunny and Late Night News tv star Loyiso Gola in his one man show Life & Times at Suncoast Casino. Carvin and Gola were at it again in Gola’s latest show Professional Black. Another internationally recognised comedian and Bafunny Bafunny star Nik Rabinowitz also made a special request that Carvin H be he’s opening act for a private comedy gig for Durban’s Jewish Community. Material movie star and comedian Joey Rasdien also asked Carvin to form part of the KZN leg of his Mixed DNA comedy tour.

 

But Carvin is a star in his own right and showed that when he became only the second South African comedian in 2012 to sell out the 1200 Playhouse Opera Theatre for his new one man show “iBruino”. His debut one man show, “No Swearing”, which is available on DVD & was also played to a full house at the Playhouse Drama Theatre.

 

In 2014, he staged his newest one man show, “Coloured President”, to sold out audiences at The Playhouse Opera in Durban and at good capacity at the Lyric Theatre in Johannesburg and will continue touring this show. Carvin has embarked on an eight city tour across South Africa for 2015.
