Benito Vergotine

 

Benito Vergotine has a voice that has been heard over the airwaves since 1991 till this very day. He matriculated from St’Joseph’s College and attended UCT obtaining his BA degree in 1991. A year’ stint at Rhodes cemented his interest and passion for the media but returned to Cape Town to complete his teacher’s training. In a magazine interview he was quoted as saying “My year at Rhodes opened my eyes to journalism but also that I had lots of growing up to do”.

 

Benito is also involved with an internal communications company and is using his passion for radio to assist companies through the establishment of in-house radio stations to communicate more effectively with their staff and clients.

 

Away from the studios he is kept busy with voice over projects and MC work.  Benito’s skills as an MC have developed him into one that always delivers and is reliable. His extensive radio experience has shaped him into one of the most sought after MC’s. He has hosted numerous station related events including client functions, promotions and a string of local and international concerts. In the corporate sector he has been an integral part of client breakfasts, motivational sessions, product launches and end of year functions. Benito has also developed into a capable auctioneer and a highlight is this years Presidents Cup at De Zalze in Stellenbosch.

 

Benito has a deep love for golf and combining that with his passion for the media he has hosted many golf day prize giving’s.  When asked why he enjoys playing golf he stated without hesitation, “This game teaches you about yourself”.

 

An important consideration is his social investment and this has given him experience in a variety of community based events including festivals and being a guest speaker at school functions. Benito’s passion is fuelled by his love of people and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
