MARCEL PRETORIUS
COMEDIC MAGICIAN | MC
Marcel Pretorius is a Professional Magician, Comedian, Actor, & TV personality who has entertained audiences across South Africa for 30 years. He trained as a magical entertainer in the
early 90’s at the College of Magic in Cape Town. After graduating with honours, Marcel competed in the South African National Magic Championships, and gained valuable experience by attending the International Magic Congress in Dresden, Germany.
Following this he studied Film and Television at City Varsity a South African NTVA award for Best Actor in a comedy.
From 2003 to 2007 Marcel presented Mark Shuttleworths’ Live Television programme HIP2B2 which focused on maths, science and technology on SABC 2.

appearances, Children’s shows and events he has hosted over the last three decades.
Marcel was also the first South African to be invited to Belgium in 2006 in preparation for ‘Asimo’,
the Humanoid Robot from Honda being presented Live at the Johannesburg International Motor
Show previously called Auto Africa. Both in 2006 and 2011.
Over the last 15 years Marcel has been involved in corporate business development, seeking to
assist as many different industries and organisations with their leadership and management
aspirations. Often resulting in meaningful partnerships that have assisted many individuals with
new definitions of what is possible. Both in their professional identities and personally.
